Geoffrey T Sowman has been serving the local community since 1867 and pride ourselves as being one of the oldest established Marlborough businesses.
We have a full 24 hour funeral service available with trained and qualified funeral directors and embalmers and after care services and are committed to the ongoing training of our staff. We pride ourselves on the high standard of care we offer and will do all we can to ensure that families receive a caring and professional service.
We have Marlborough's only cremation facility on our premises and a modern well equipped chapel, seating up to 150 people with additional standing capacity inside and out. This additional capacity is also served by a video monitoring service and comprehensive sound system with CD and tape playing facilities.
Our catering lounge is available for medium sized groups. We also provide and arrange catering at various other venues or at family homes as required.
Other facilities include private viewing room, family lounge, and casket display room.
We have a modern fleet of hearses. Also available are family cars if required.
Because of our long involvement with the industry we have established links with many funeral firms in New Zealand, Australia and worldwide and have long experience in repatriation.

We are fully registered members of the New Zealand Master Monumental Masons Association and have full monumental services and display room. Our registered master monumental mason has 16 years continuous experience with our company. Association membership guarantees quality workmanship and high quality imported granite memorials.
Another service we offer is producing personalised sandcarved glassware and etching of metals such as pewter, silver and stainles steel. We provide corporate gift packages displaying company logos and emblems.
