Morrison Funeral Directors Ltd
Wm Morrison Funeral Directors was founded in 1921 at 367 Parnell Road, Auckland by William Morrison, an immigrant from Scotland. It was run with both William and his wife Margaret at the helm until 1976 when William passed away, from there Margaret and their three sons, John, Roger and David ran the company until October 2002 when Margaret passed away, and the boys continue to the present day.
As time has progressed Morrison’s have always been amongst the leaders in the provision of extra services and facilities by being the first company in Auckland to provide a private crematorium, offered as an alternative to their clients, and also to other funeral directors when they wish to take advantage of the facility, and they have been amongst the first to offer TV screens in their chapel to allow visual tributes as part of the service.
In 1995, due to the success of the Henderson complex, a new chapel was built in Glen Innes. As at Henderson, the bereaved family may arrange their loved one’s funeral service, speak to the florist who will arrange their floral tribute personally, view their loved ones, and, on the chosen day hold their funeral service and enjoy a time afterwards with those who have come to pay their respects, all without having to leave the chapel complex.
As family needs have changed Morrison’s have always strived to provide what is required by families at their time of sorrow, and are now in the process of constructing a completely new complex at their site in Henderson, once again it is to be a large step forward in the provision of services, while still retaining the welcoming feel Morrison’s have always provided.
Whiles having at their disposal the two complexes, Morrison’s staff are able and willing to serve their families anywhere they desire, including but not limited to, churches, RSA or sports clubs, crematorium chapels or even a small intimate graveside service.

Seating for 120 plus and a video feed to accommodate overflow (in both chapels). Secondary Chapel seating 50 for smaller intimate services (Henderson only)
