Cremation, Burial or Bequest
When planning a funeral for yourself, a family member or friend,
one of the key decisions is whether to have burial or cremation.
While some people state a strong preference, perhaps based on their
cultural or religious views, others find the decision a difficult
one to make.
In New Zealand, there are four options available to families -
there are many factors that will influence the final decision.
All of these are governed by New Zealand's laws and regulations,
the major ones being The Burial and Cremation Act,The
Health (Burial) Regulations, The Coroner's Act, The Coroner's
Regulations and The Human Tissue Act.
